This post was supposed to go up last week, but in the business of getting ready for Anime Weekend Atlanta I completely forgot to publish it! Since I went to a con this weekend, I thought I'd skip out on the month's theme of firsts this week and plan for a trip. This was a really fun post to put together. One of my favorite things about my wardrobe, as well as one I am most proud of, is how cohesive it is. It was pretty easy, and I had a blast putting together these coordinates.

When I attended my first meetup, I wore a handmade skirt that I literally finished the night before (I'm a real procrastinator)... It was incredibly simple and not very exciting. No lace, and a simple elastic waistband. That was it. I attempted to make a matching head bow, but it turned out far too large, but it did make a fantastic, if droopy, waist bow.

Review: Mu-fish Taobao Shop

So a couple of months ago my friend and I made a Taobao order together, and we both ordered a ton of socks and tights from the shop Mu-fish. I found out about the shop when searching for a pair of chocolate printed legwear that was more affordable than brand tights new or socks on the secondhand market. Unfortunately, they've since stopped selling the chocolate tights that brought me to their shop, but I thought it would still be worth it to review their shop since their stuff is so nice.

Since this is a fresh new blog, this September is going to be all about firsts. This week I'll begin with My First Meetup!

Now, when I first got into the fashion (less than 2 years ago!), one of the things that appealed to me most was the social aspect. Most of my other hobbies are solitary in nature - drawing, playing handheld video games, spending time on the internet, and more recently, running. So the fact that people got together and dressed up in frills outside of the convention scene (I had had past experiences with conventions and cosplay) seemed like a lot of fun. So once I found out about the existence of local communities it was a short time before I tracked mine down.

So I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while, but I had yet to get around to it. This page will mostly be a personal diary of my journeys, thoughts, and adventures within Japanese lolita fashion. However, before writing about anything else, I'll share a little bit about me...
