Has it really been over a year?!
So not too long ago while browsing the lolita community's most favorite anonymous image board, I saw that a user had brought up my blog, wondering whatever had happened to me seeing as my last post had brought up how I was getting treatment for depression. I was really pretty touched as I never had imagined that the brief time that I had been blogging would actually net me some followers invested enough that they wondered my fate.
Well, as you can see I am very much alive and still pretty active in the lolita community! I post coordinates to my Tumblr still, although I've been experiencing asignificant lack of motivation in posting bed coordinates. I suppose as of late my lolita life has taken a rather more personal approach, and I've done most of my interaction via face to face interaction with my closest friends as opposed to any noteworthy internet activities. Although Angelic Pretty USA did feature one of my coordinates in their March 2016 Newsletter!

So... where the hell have I been?! Instead of writing a novel explaining to you all readers who are still with me my absence, I'll give you a rather abridged version: I lost my relatively lucrative job June of 2015, which spiraled into the depression I was discussing in my last blog post. This led to me making the fantastic judgement call of taking my last two paychecks from that job and the lapse in employment to take a two month trip to Japan with two of my best friends (who I happened to meet through lolita)! It was amazing and I suppose I ought to make a series of posts relating some of the adventures I had while in Tokyo?
Following my return to the United States in November 2015, I debated on what to do with my career. Working as an art teacher in the local public school system, while wonderful in theory, had led to my deep and dark depression. Kindergartners had always been my favorite age group, so after some deliberation I decided to return to the field of early childhood education and was finally was hired in February of 2016 as a teaching assistant at a local preschool. While my paycheck is smaller - the degree of which is somewhat debatable after factoring in all of the extra hours I had/should have worked in the public school system - I am so much happier and less stressed. The icing on the cake is that I am completely off of medication for depression! There are of course are days that are less than perfect, but I am in a much better place and now look forward to each new day, regardless of whether or not there is a lolita meet!
Thank you for staying with me through this, and I intend to return to blogging now that my life has properly settled. Saturn returns can be rough!
Welcome back! Though I'm not the person who was wondering where you'd gotten to I had missed your blog as well. It's great to hear you're doing better on a personal front and I'm excited to read more of your posts, especially about your trip to Japan!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am doing much better, and I'm glad to see you're still actively blogging! I'll make a series of posts on my trip to Japan spread out over the coming weeks.
DeleteWelcome back! I discovered your blog by a review of Mu Fish and I'm glad to read the things got better for you. May I ask which SS do you use for Taobao? Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! That's especially exciting hearing people found me through a review! I did use TaobaoSpree for the longest time, but then last summer they had some strange issue with receiving payments via Paypal, so the last time I did a Taobao order I use TaobaoRing.
