4 Coords for 1 Season with 1 Main Piece

This week's Lolita Blog Carnival topic is a great exercise for anyone with a wardrobe, and as fall is my favorite season for wearing lolita it was perfect timing. I decided to try my hand at coordinating Cameo Window as it is one of my most loved main pieces and the print is well suited for the season.
Please note: For purposes of length and avoiding redundancy, I've omitted the source information for items that have been used in earlier coordinates.

Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Blouse: Infanta
Bag and charm, parasol: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Jewelry: a mix of Angelic Pretty, self made, and offbrand
Tights: offbrand
Shoes: Bodyline
As I live in the American South, much of autumn is dominated by warm temperatures, especially in the beginning of the season. It's not until much later that it starts to get cooler. Because of this, the first coord of the season is something that can be suitable for warmer weather, with the parasol for shade, and an open neck chiffon blouse. As the blouse lends a delicate and classic touch to the coordinate, I decided to use my brown rose necklace, one of the first lolita accessories I made. Rose tights tie in the theming from the necklace.

Beret: offbrand
Rosette and hair bow: Rococo Soul
Cutsew, bag, socks: Angelic Pretty
Jewelry: A mix of offbrand, Angelic Pretty, and Baby
Shoes: Antaina
Fall is also naturally a great time for academic themes, so I kept that in mind when designing this coordinate. I finally picked up a mocha cutsew after searching for one quite some time, and it brings out the lighter colors in the print so nicely, coordinating it with Cameo Window was one of the first things that crossed my mind! This coordinate, thanks to the full back shirring of the dress, and the cutsew would be very comfortable, great for casual meets like crafting.

Also, the shoes are in fact a very dark brown, the different shades of brown in this coordinate and the lighting differences make the colors look much different than they appear in reality.

Cutsew: Angelic Pretty
Socks: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Boots: Bodyline
Bag: Taobao
Another cute and comfy coordinate with a cutsew, this time using the one I just recieved in my lucky pack! This is clearly a very casual coordinate, something that I'd likely wear in a less lolita setting. The boots and beret make this coordinate a little on the warm side, so it would be a coordinate better suited for later in the season in my climate.

Blouse: altered offbrand
Bolero: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
The final coordinate would be something to save for the end of the season, as fall turns to winter. I've tried to go for a bit more of a classic look here with the high neck blouse with the cameo from the dress and the lacey crocheted bolero. Unfortunately, like the majority of my coordinates it still comes across pretty sweet.

While putting together these coordinates I've realized that I really need to increase the amount of small accessories like headwear and jewelry in my wardrobe! I've focused a lot of my spending on larger items like blouses, cardigans/boleros, and bags, and since I have a pretty defined color palette in my wardrobe I feel some of these coordinates come across very similarly. Things to keep in mind for the future!

So, have you ever done a coordinate building exercise like this? What did you learn about your wardrobe from it?

  1. I REALLY like the outfits you put together here, every one of them. Though I won't lie, the first two have particularly caught my attention, they're definitely things that I'd wear. And there's nothing wrong with having a very clearly defined colour palette, although I share the pain with not having enough accessories in different colours. Sometimes I feel like there are never enough accessories and that struggle is very real :P

    1. Thank you very much! I too agree with you about the first two, they are the most eyecatching. I usually have a hard time buying new accessories because I never think shipping small items is worth it, but I really need to start.

    2. Amen to that! A lot of the things I see accessory wise I'd be happy to pay the price for the item, but it's like this much or even double for the shipping. It's insane. I'm going to have to plan my accessory sprees a little bit more and maybe do an actual Taobao haul with just accessories or something, just to make it worth my while and money...

  2. All your outfits are so pretty! And I think they're sufficiently different despite all being in the same colour scheme... it's a little hard to be super varied with a monochrome yet printed main piece anyway.

Also, I really love your particular style of sweet-classic, it's really lovely :)

    1. Thank you as always. :) I never really thought too much about how Cameo Window is monochrome, but you're right, most prints do have at least one other color to work with! That might be exactly my problem here and why I feel the coordinates are not all that varied.

  3. Your coordinates are absolutely beautiful, this is a great post! I'm a sucker for that color palette, and they're all so classy looking. It's cool to see the progression from warmer to cooler weather, too!

    1. Thank you! I'm a sucker for this palette too, it used to dominate my lolita wardrobe and is one of the main reasons I love fall coordinates! Now if only my regular wardrobe were as seasonally appropriate...
