Lolita 52 - How satisfied I am with my current wardrobe

Honestly, what lolita is ever satisfied with their wardrobe? It seems that a wish list is something that is perpetually growing, whether it's just with dresses, or something as simple as a blouse. And I can assure you, my wish list has grown quite a bit recently. Fall is the season for me, and it's such a shame that I live in Florida where the darker colors and heavy fabrics of fall make my favorite and most desired pieces difficult to wear.

Well now I'm more than a little behind! Travels, then I fell sick, and then work got to me! I'll be attempting to make 2 lolita 52 posts per week now until I'm caught up! Today we'll be discussing the 5 things every lolita wardrobe should have. The topic is technically pieces, but I feel that having a successful wardrobe contains more than just articles of clothing. We all hopefully know about the basic pieces such as petticoats, blouses, and legwear, but there are several other things that can really make your wardrobe shine.

Lolita 52 - Why I wear lolita

Well, this post is a little bit late, it was supposed to go up last week, but I've been traveling so much recently what with AWA and last weekend's trip to see the in-laws that I've been too exhausted to attend to the blog. I'm actually now a week behind, so I'll probably be making 2 posts this week!

So... why do I wear lolita? There's a few reasons I can think of, and I'm sure none of them are new. This post is particularly timely because it directly follows a convention, and every one of these feelings are present when getting ready for and attending one.

Since I went to a con this weekend, I thought I'd skip out on the month's theme of firsts this week and plan for a trip. This was a really fun post to put together. One of my favorite things about my wardrobe, as well as one I am most proud of, is how cohesive it is. It was pretty easy, and I had a blast putting together these coordinates.

When I attended my first meetup, I wore a handmade skirt that I literally finished the night before (I'm a real procrastinator)... It was incredibly simple and not very exciting. No lace, and a simple elastic waistband. That was it. I attempted to make a matching head bow, but it turned out far too large, but it did make a fantastic, if droopy, waist bow.
