So, I finally bought my first lucky pack! A friend of mine informed me of them the night before they went up as the email from AP USA had made it to my spam box. Unfortunately, as I was at work the time of release, so I had to rely on the services and judgement of my wonderful husband who works in front of a computer. And he came through! He ordered me the "Special Cute" set which included 2 jsks, a hair bow, a top, and a surprise pair of socks (I did not know about the socks when I ordered)! This was a blind pack so I was completely at the mercy of fate...

Well, I have to say I've been pretty lucky with most things in my wardrobe. The majority of things have been purchased through brand sites, secondhand sites, auction sites, or even using an in-store shopping service with little trouble. I find the item, decide to buy it, and make it happen! However, sometimes things don't work out as planned...

I have to say, this is something I've been thinking about an awful lot lately, especially as I'm putting together my EGL wardrobe post. I suppose it's different for everyone, based on specific needs and what your goal is. Naturally, someone who wears lolita only for cons and meets is going to need a lot less to pull together a functioning and complete wardrobe than someone whose goal is to wear it daily.

Well, this post is honestly pretty hard to write. Every brand has their own unique style to appreciate, so it's pretty difficult to say without a doubt "X brand is my favorite". However, since I feel like I need to choose just one, I'll have to go with Angelic Pretty.

Lolita 52 - My best deal

Seeing as this is Black Friday here in the United States, I thought this would be a relevant topic. In case any of my overseas readers are unaware - Black Friday is what Americans consider the "official" beginning of the holiday shopping season - and it's always the Friday after Thanksgiving. Lots of retailers open ridiculously early - some as early as 3 am - and offer ridiculously good deals on merchandise. Online retailers have also jumped on the bandwagon with their own special sales day - "Cyber Monday" and it serves the same purpose as Black Friday. I'm personally not a big fan of either of these days because there is more to the holiday season than gifts, but it is what is is.

Back in early October I ordered 3 pairs of Bodyline's newest shoes during their sale, and they finally arrived last week! I would have written this review earlier, but the weather has been so rainy and dark since then that I haven't been able to take decent photos. I picked up 3 pairs of Shoes300 in colors that suit my wardrobe, and I couldn't be happier!

Lolita 52 - What's in my closet, but I haven't worn yet!

My wardrobe's growth has been pretty small recently, due to the fact that I've started a new budget that will allow me to spend guilt free. Unfortunately, because of this, I haven't added much to my wardrobe recently in the way of main pieces, but have exchanged some shoes and blouses for things that are more elegant and opulent, and in the long run will lend themselves to more variety in my coordinates. I've found that my style has begun to evolve into less of a traditional sweet aesthetic (not that it was ever the pastel flavor), and more into a classic-sweet hybrid. As much as I find classic beautiful, I just love the cute themes and imagery present in sweet, particularly chocolate and other desserts. However, I am waiting on a few things in the mail (so I guess technically they aren't part of my closet yet), and have a main piece that I've yet to wear to a meet (but have worn in public very briefly).

Lolita 52 - How satisfied I am with my current wardrobe

Honestly, what lolita is ever satisfied with their wardrobe? It seems that a wish list is something that is perpetually growing, whether it's just with dresses, or something as simple as a blouse. And I can assure you, my wish list has grown quite a bit recently. Fall is the season for me, and it's such a shame that I live in Florida where the darker colors and heavy fabrics of fall make my favorite and most desired pieces difficult to wear.

When I attended my first meetup, I wore a handmade skirt that I literally finished the night before (I'm a real procrastinator)... It was incredibly simple and not very exciting. No lace, and a simple elastic waistband. That was it. I attempted to make a matching head bow, but it turned out far too large, but it did make a fantastic, if droopy, waist bow.
